We decided to take advantage of living in Boston by doing something in Boston. The Boston Globe sponsored a Children's Book event with music and readings on the Common last Saturday, so we took the train in and enjoyed some fun music and the Target craft tent and a variety of other free stuff. Then we took a ride on the Swan Boats and visited the Make Way for Ducklings statue (along with every other child in the area). It was a fun morning day until we got home that afternoon and Elise developed a fever and ended up having a rough night, meaning Kurt and I had a rough night too. She did feel better and had a great week at school, where they have been learning about New York and did a feature on Broadway and talked about the musical CATS, hence the make-up.

Apron for Elise
So she may look excited, but it has taken days for me to be able to get Elise to pose for a photo with her new apron. I am much more enthusiastic about my handywork than Elise is right now. Oh well, it is too big for her anyway so maybe she will be more excited in a few months. I must say for not having sewn much, and never using binding before I was thrilled it turned out so well. Can't wait to make another one.
