Summer Sun
Finally, some nice summer-like weather for almost an entire weekend. Friday was free ferry day to the Boston Harbor Islands and we were fortunate to have some good luck, so while the tickets for the earlier ferries were sold out we were able to get on stand-by and make it out on the first ferry to George's Island at 9:30 am. It was a perfect day and we traveled into Boston on the T boat from Hingham, which was a really nice commute. There was a performance of some Fairy Tales (top left corner) and Elise really enjoyed that. It was really neat to walk around Fort Warren. We will have to get to some of the other islands another time, when it isn't insanely crowded as it was on Friday. Saturday we just stuck around the house and played outside a little. Then this morning we went over to Nantasket Beach for a beautiful morning of sand and surf (and a little carousel action). Elise wasn't so interested in being in the water today, but no matter she recieved some terrific beach equipment for her birthday, which she enjoyed. She had a nice nap in the car on the way to Peaceful Meadows for an afternoon ice cream treat - yummy. She ate most of her black raspberry and I enjoyed my peach while Kurt went with dutch chocolate.
