Elise at Four Years Old

Elise's went for her annual check up a few weeks ago and I meant to report her latest stats. She did great at the doctor's office until it was time for the shots (3!) and who can blame her for not wanting 3 shots? Even the lollypop didn't help the crying this time. I have to remind the nurse next time NOT to use those sticky round band aids as I have as taking them off is as traumatic to Elise as getting the shot in the first place. Elise is weighing in 38.8 lbs at a height of 40 inches, which is 75% for height and 50% for weight at that height - so really good. No other problems to report thank goodness. She also went in for her dental check-up and everything looked good there too. They even took x-rays and she did great with that. She loves going since they have a box she can pick little toys out of. With the fear of sounding like a braggart, I do have to say that Elise is constantly surprising me and Kurt with her reading skills. She is actually reading words and can even get through a couple of her books. And yes, some of them she has definately memorized, but she is pointing to words in books that Kurt and I are reading us and telling us what they are. I will try to upload her showing off her reading skills here. We are super proud of her and know that she is going to be amazing by the time she enters Kindergarten next year.
She started back at Johnson School this week and is very happy to be in Miss Bradley and Mrs. Travers class again. Katelin from her Bright Horizons Summer program is also in her class and we will see how that works out. One day Elise talks about playing with her and the next says that Katelin says she won't play with her, which makes her feel bad. I guess we'll see how it shakes out over the next few months.
