After cracking the pinata it was time for cake and presents. The cake was nothing fancy, but it turned out fine. I think the cupcakes from her first birthday were far superior (but at least this year the icing didn't melt like last year's Big Bird cake) - maybe next year I will spend more time on the cake - this year I devoted most of my energies on the paper items. She got some fantastic presents (THANK YOU!!!!) from Nany and Grandpa, Ed & Carole, Bob & Erika (and Aidan & Zane), and Meredith & Cody (and Emerson). When we got home she immediately opened the pop beads and had them scattered over the floor and started putting them together. She then got Kurt to help her with the new puzzles, had to play with the miniature kitchen set, and read all three of her new books. Fortunately she actually went to bed tonight with her new stuffed pigeon and purse doggie (after reading the new books again)! Kurt and I got her a few little gifts that we will give her on her birthday proper (Tuesday, the 14th).
