Spring Update

It felt like February and March really flew by and now that April is half over, I realize I haven't posted an update in weeks. Back at the beginning of March, I was in Miami and Palm Beach with the Art Museum's European donor group. It was a great trip, likely the best one yet but I imagine some of that is that is was the fifth year organizing this trip and am finally figuring out what works and what doesn't. Our new curator was terrific and I am looking forward to working with her on next year's program.
On the home front, we had a great Easter. Elise couldn't stop asking about when Easter was coming, she LOVES that the Easter Bunny brings her things, he is almost as great as Santa. Erika and Bob hosted another great dinner and Easter Egg Hunt, which Elise did pretty well with this year. She ended up making $19 in her scratch off tickets and won a water gun, not to mention the candy.
Finally, this last picture was so cute. They had a career day at school, where the kids had to dress up like what they want be when they grow up. She wants to be a lot of things, but for this purpose she wanted to go as a National Park Ranger so I cut up one of Kurt's old shirts and sewed this up - fortunately I had this hat so we didn't really have to buy anything. Apparently she really just wants to work at Yellowstone (Julie this should make you proud considering all our trips to Yellowstone growing up) even though we haven't been yet. I was completely supportive of her choice of course, but inside I couldn't help thinking that she had better decided on a more lucrative career!
Anyway, it is spring vacation week so I hope that by the end of the week I will have another update. Oh and the great news for me is that work is sending me to Madrid in a couple of weeks to attend an annual meeting of our European group so I am totally excited about that. Elise isn't as keen on my going and has been unusually clingly with me.
