Spring Outings

As you can see we have had a busy spring, at least when the weather cooperates. In addition to Saturday morning swimming lessons and weekly visits to the Hingham Library, we have been out and about. Back in March the South Shore Model Railroad Club had their semi-annual open house and it was interesting to see the trains and track work. The space is surprisingly nice, although crowded. The circus train was really long and it was cool to watch multiple trains running along the tracks. Next time we will have to get Elise's cousins Aidan and Zane to come over.
We made our annual spring pilgrimage to Drumlin Farm and watched the adorable new lambs prance around the field. The other activity that we are going to be doing a lot of this summer is Questing. We bought the South Shore Quests booklet, which contains about 20 quests to c0mplete mostly in the state parks in the area. We did our first one in Wompatuck State Park and then headed over to Abigail Adams Park off of Route 3A in Weymouth. The quests are a series of directions that you use to find the questbox at the end where you can put your name in the quest book and put that quest's stamp in your quest book. Kurt took Elise on a third quest so we are well on our way to filling our book. So far Elise is really enjoying it and it gets us outside really looking around nature. Of course there is a down side and that is the ticks that both Elise and I found when we got home - yuck! So far no signs of Lyme disease but we are watching to make sure Elise doesn't display any symptoms.
