June Celebrations
June was also a busy month for celebrations - at home and at work. Not sure how it is possible, but Kurt turned 47 on the 9th and of course Elise was right there waiting for a piece of his Swedish Fish/Blueberry cake. Lest you are disgusted by this combination it was inspired by a game that Elise likes to play on-line, where she gets to decorate cakes with different ingredients and one of them is fish, at least with our version the fish were candy. While June has been a great month for celebrations at work it means that July onward is going to be difficult as the celebrations were part of bidding goodbye to two of my very favorite people, Jenny and Nika. At least Jenny is staying put and working on her writing while Nika is leaving me for San Francisco. I anticipate many, many coffee/sanity breaks with Jenny as I take on most of Nika's work and contend with a new person who has already demonstrated her psychotic tendancies (as Jenny found out the hard way). While Jenny left several weeks ago we still managed to surprise her and Jens with a wedding shower, which was a lot of fun and I am really looking forward to their wedding this October in the Adirondacks.
