The Party
We had perfect weather for Elise's party at Webb Memorial State Park here in Weymouth. If it looks somewhat familiar that's because this is the park where we had her first birthday party. Of course it is always nice to have the Eichner's and Clarke's join us but it was also nice that the Harwards were able to come too as well as Katelyn, Natalie, and Andrew and their parents. Elise got lots of great gifts including new books she hasn't read, some great Playmobile sets from Aidan and Zane. Nany and Grandpa spoiled her with clothes, books, games, and puzzles. Ed and Carole gave her a great pink soccer ball and net with shin guards. We finished the day with dinner and a sleepover at Bob and Erika's, which made Aidan and Elise quite happy.
Our theme this year was a garden party, so I set up a couple of craft stations where kids could decorate foam flowers with stickers, plant seeds in paper containers, make tissue paper flowers and then we had veggies and seeds for a snack with flower cupcakes. It turned out pretty cute, and the kids seemed happy. At one point Bob took the kids down along the shore for a nature walk and that was apparently the highlight for Andrew. All in all it was a great day.
